Halo 3 - Steam Deck Performance Comparison (1080p vs 1280x800)

Halo 3, on Normal (except textures to high) settings. There's one occurrence that, when I freezed the game for a moment on 1080p when I unplugged my external controller. 1280x800 is trimmed due to filesize.

# Top runs: * **Highest FPS**: `Halo 3 1280x800 trimmed` has the highest average FPS, approximately 66% higher than the other run. * **Smoothest FPS**: `Halo 3 1920x1080` is the smoothest, with FPS variance around 78% lower compared to the other run. * **Best overall**: Although `Halo 3 1920x1080` has lower FPS than its counterpart, its significantly better stability makes it the best overall option for a balanced experience. # Summary The benchmark compares the performance of "Halo 3" on a Steam Deck at two different resolutions: `1080p` and `1280x800`. Despite the `1280x800` resolution delivering an average FPS that is substantially higher, the `1080p` resolution offers much smoother performance due to its lower FPS variance. Both runs utilize the same hardware, software, and configuration, with consistency ensured by the use of `Steam Runtime 3` and the `schedutil` Linux scheduler in a Linux environment. This highlights the trade-off between resolution and performance stability, where a higher resolution ensures more consistent frame delivery, while a lower resolution provides a higher frame rate but with more variability.
