Marvel Rivals Windows vs CachyOS LOW END SYSTEM TEST

Marvel Rivals test of Windows 10 vs CachyOS on a low end system using competitive graphical settings. Settings are as follows: Full screen exclusive 1920x1080, AMD FSR ultra performance, super sampling at 80%, Frame Generation OFF, Vsync OFF, lowest graphical settings. Testing to find out which OS has the competitive advantage and which GPU is better overall. Same hardware and system, just swapped out GPUs and performed clean install of drivers such as using DDU on Windows.

# Top runs: * **Highest FPS**: `CachyOS 6500 XT` with a mean FPS approximately 6% higher than the other runs combined. * **Smoothest FPS**: `Windows 10 GTX 970` with the lowest FPS variance, approximately 50% lower than most, contributing to a more consistent gaming experience. * **Best overall**: `CachyOS 6500 XT` offers a balance with the highest FPS and reasonable stability, making it a strong choice except for the slight FPS variance. # Issues: * The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 under `CachyOS` performs significantly worse than any other configuration, with an FPS approximately 30% lower, which is not ideal for competitive settings. * Despite configurations being largely uniform, the `Windows` setup for the GTX 970 uses significantly lower RAM during tests, which could indicate a more optimized memory usage in that OS environment. # Summary The benchmark comparisons between `Windows 10` and `CachyOS` on a low-end system across AMD and NVIDIA GPUs reveal considerable differences in performance. The combination of `CachyOS` with the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT demonstrates higher FPS, suggesting that the system benefits from a Linux-based OS with AMD hardware synergy. Nonetheless, the `Windows 10` setup with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 provides excellent frame consistency, albeit with slightly lower FPS. Overall, `CachyOS` with AMD hardware is advantageous for achieving the highest FPS, whereas `Windows` coupled with NVIDIA offers top stability. Insights from this analysis could guide gamers in choosing optimal OS and hardware combinations for their performance needs.
